Brighton Period Project

The Brighton Period Poverty, a group of NCS 2021 graduates and a charitable organisation dedicated to tackling period poverty.

We are a group of young people who are leading Brighton Period Project, a charitable organisation dedicated to tackling period poverty. We founded Brighton Period Project in July 2021; with the help of NCS which is a 3 week government run program for 16 and 17 year olds.

As part of the programme we were required to create a community action project, hence Brighton Period Project was born. Period poverty is when people lack products and proper hygiene facilities required whilst on their period - this issue can spill out into many areas of life, such as education or work. Our aim is to de-stigmatise periods and make period products more widely available to people in our community who require them, as well as furthering education about periods.
