What is the National Citizen Service (NCS)?
NCS, or the National Citizen Service, is a government-backed initiative that aims to provide young individuals aged 16-17 with a life-changing experience. Its goal is to challenge comfort zones, build skills, and foster social responsibility through a series of engaging activities and projects.
The NCS-CYA partnership
Concordia Youth Action (CYA) operates as the local community experience delivery for NCS, offering a tailored programme within the NCS framework. Thanks to the partnership with NCS, CYA participants benefit from a fully funded programme that adheres to strict quality standards set by NCS, ensuring an enriching and impactful experience for all involved.
How NCS benefits CYA participants
Through NCS, CYA participants gain access to a wealth of resources, support services, and opportunities that enhance their educational and personal growth journey. From exciting activities to valuable skill-building exercises, NCS provides the foundation upon which CYA can deliver its mission of empowering young people to make a difference in their communities.
Real impact, real change
Together, NCS and CYA have witnessed the power of youth-driven initiatives first-hand. From our nationally recognised social action projects, like the Brighton Period Project, to local community initiatives, our participants have proven time and again that when given the opportunity and support, they can truly make a difference.
