Group Volunteering Abroad

The project

Yerevan School #14 is the only educational institution in Armenia to use the Braille system. For 10 days, your group will support the school and its students by renovating classrooms, landscaping and painting in the grounds, and working with the children to share your culture and bring the world to them. Alongside the volunteering work, your hosts will plan a series of cultural activities and visits to help you experience true Arminian hospitality.

In previous years, group projects have culminated in a performance featuring the students and volunteers, practised and rehearsed during the duration of your stay.

The school have been organising international camps for group volunteers from all over the world every year for many years, so the staff at the school are experienced in hosting volunteers.

Accommodation & food

The group would be staying on-site in shared rooms with 4-6 beds. Your group won't be sharing rooms with anyone outside your group. The school's in-house catering team handles food and catering. The facilities are clean and well-kept, but somewhat basic.

Location & leisure

Alongside the volunteer work, your hosts will organise a range of cultural activities to give you a flavour of life in Armenia. Activities will include Armenian language lessons, traditional cooking and dance lessons, based in the capital, Yerevan, you will also get a chance to visit local museums, heritage sites, and the city itself.

Project host

The project is facilitated and hosted by HUJ Armina, our local partner, founded in 1965. Like Concordia, they are a member of the Alliance of European Voluntary Service Organisations and the Coordinating Committee for International Voluntary Service.

HUJ's mission is to empower youth through national and international volunteer programs, promoting inclusivity and collaboration. They advocate for vulnerable groups such as refugees, children with special needs, and marginalised individuals, striving to amplify their visibility and support across local, national, and international platforms.
