The project
This project supports local organic farmers, raising awareness about organic farming, fair trade, and environmental preservation. Volunteers will develop agricultural skills and contribute to local efforts in promoting organic and fair-trade products.
As a volunteer, you’ll engage in various activities, including:
Assisting with agriculture on local organic farms.
Gardening at the Urban Garden (Horta Urbana de Amarante).
Cleaning riverbanks.
Organising climate actions and challenges.
Promoting local, organic, and fair trade products.
Accommodation & food
You’ll stay in shared rooms (4 participants per room) at Casa da Juventude de Amarante, a youth centre located in the city centre, just 10 minutes' walk from the bus station. The centre is equipped with a kitchen, WC, showers, and offers meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) focused on healthy, organic, and vegetarian ingredients. Participants should bring a sleeping bag. Laundry facilities and free Wi-Fi are available.
